Human Activity More than Doubles Fire Occurrence in the Arctic

Researchers from the IEU, together with an international research team, investigated how human activity is linked to fire occurrence in the Arctic.

The study shows that fires occurred 2.5 times more often in areas associated with human activity than in climatically similar areas without human influence.
