Environmental History

This group asks questions about how humans perceive, alter or manage the natural world, and how the natural world, in turn, alters the way people live and think. Research methodologies include public surveys and interviews, analyses of cultural and natural archives, as well as field and laboratory observations. Our several research projects center on past and present concerns of biological conservation, ecological restoration, ecohealth, and global change.

Head of group: PD Dr. Marcus Hall
