PhD Program in Ecology

The Life Science Zurich – PhD Program in Ecology was launched in 1999 as a pioneer PhD program. Ever since the activation of the program, it has provided an excellent scientific environment offering a number of diverse seminars and courses for the enrolled students. The aim is to increase the research competence of PhD students in the interdisciplinary field of ecology and to provide them with useful skills for their professional life, whether this is in an academic institution or following another career path. To date over two hundred international PhD students have actively participated in our program.
Meanwhile the program is well established and part of the Life Science Zurich Graduate School (LSZGS) which was founded in 2005. The LSZGS is a common platform for the recruitment and education of PhD students at the University and ETH Zurich. It offers thirteen PhD programs of which the Life Science Zurich – PhD Program in Ecology is the oldest one.
